Mary Lisa Banks' Obituary
Mary Lisa Banks
1962-2018
Mary Lisa Banks, 56, of Big Piney, Wyoming, tragically, and unexpectedly, left this World on Wednesday, August 15th. Lisa, as she was known to family and friends, was born on May 11, 1962 to Carrol Bud Carlson and Dorothy Mower Carlson. Lisa was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend whose time on earth was unfortunately cut short.
Lisa grew up in Midvale, Utah with her three sisters. She always said she had a lot of really fun times with her sisters, and she loved them very much. That was something Lisa had no shortage of-love.
Lisa married her soulmate, Richard Joseph Banks on September 21, 1985. Together they raised four children, Richard JR, Jeremy Bud, Heather Elise, and Walter Gordon.
Lisa has lived in Big Piney, Wyoming for the past 16 years. Where she enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren grow.
She was a strong, stubborn bitch of a woman- you didn’t mess with her ha. Mom always had a smile on her face, a joke to tell, and a laugh for all. She loved laughing. She was a Taurus, and there was no shortage of stubbornness or wittiness from her. She was very strong-willed. Mom was always looking at the positive, and she was always smiling, and boy was she funny. She had lots of love in her heart, and she would give that to anyone.
Mom made some bad choices in her life, but she would want to be remembered for the funny gal that she was. Though it is very hard that she is gone, it is also comforting knowing she is not hurting anymore, and she will be missed greatly. Any sunflower, Fleetwood Mac song, or fortune cookie, surely will bring back a flood of memories. She loved her kids deeply and would do anything for us. She always made sure we were taken care of, and always made sure we knew she loved us. She would want us to “don’t stop thinkin’ about tomorrow,” because “If you wake up and don't want to smile-If it takes just a little while- Open your eyes and look at the day-You'll see things in a different way.”
Lisa is survived by her loving husband Richard, four children: Richard Jr. of Salt Lake, Jeremy Bud (Sierra), Heather Elise (Bryson) Griffin all of Big Piney, Wyoming, and Walter Gordon (Stephen) Banks of Taylorsville. Her parents, Dorothy McMurray, Mesquite, Nevada, and Bud (wife Sophie), Midvale, Utah. Sisters Cindy Carlson of Ivins and Michele (Kevin) Thomas of West Jordan. Her grandchildren, whom she loved very much, Colten, Landon, Dillion, Wilder, Trigg, and Kyrra. Several nieces and nephews, and many other people whose lives she changed with her smile.
We will miss you, mama. Rest in peace, Marklar!!
There will be a graveside service 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Mt Pleasant, Ut Cemetery where family and friends are welcome to come and share memories of Lisa. 115 W Main Street. Mt. Pleasant, Utah 84647
