Mary Marjorie Sheppard Decker's Obituary
Mary Marjorie Sheppard Decker, 90, passed away from a lingering illness, peacefully at home, May 9, 2024 in West Valley City, Utah.
Born, February 4, 1934, in Calgary Alberta Canada. Parents are John Hollister and Emma (Fisher) Sheppard. She grew up in Edmonton Alberta Canada. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. After College, Mary moved to Salt Lake City Utah where she met and married Dorrel L.Decker on August 27, 1958 in the Cardson Alberta Temple.
Mary is survived by husband, Dorrel; her children Kim (Kerry) Van Every of Driftwood Texas; Janet (Brad) Neilson of Bluffdale Utah: and DeNai Bradshaw of West Valley City Utah: her 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and sisters Judy (Stan) Burton of Lethbridge Alberta Canada; and Betty (LaRon) Wooley of Grand Prairie Alberta Canada.
She is preceded in death by her son John, her granddaughter Candace, her brother Johnny and her parents John and Emma Sheppard.
Mary worked as a seamstress for most of her life and was a woman of many talents, when she set her mind to something she was able to accomplish anything she wanted. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings where she was able to share with others her many talents.
The family is so grateful for all the service and care given.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24,2024 from 6-8pm and Saturday, May 25,2024 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Constitution LDS Ward Meeting house located at 2850 W 3835 S, West Valley City, UT 84119.
Memorial services to honor and celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at the same above location.
