Mary Jean Broderick Naranjo passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in El Monte, California, in November 1943 to AnnLea Black and Kenneth W. Broderick, Mary lived a life full of grace, strength, and unwavering love.
In August 1962, she married Robert S. Naranjo. Together, they built a strong and loving family. In 2009, Mary moved from California to Utah to be closer to her children, a testament to the deep devotion she had for her family.
Mary is survived by her beloved children: Eddie R. Crumb, Kenneth W. Naranjo, Robert M. Naranjo, Maria Elena Naranjo Bomar, Jose M. Naranjo, and Troy D. Naranjo.
She is also remembered lovingly by her siblings: Marjorie Martinez, Carolyn Cesena, John Broderick, and Roselee McGriff. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Nancy Norton, and her brother George Broderick.
Mary leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.
She had a beautiful soul and a gentle spirit. Mary found joy in simple pleasures—walking through botanical gardens or parks, spending peaceful moments at the beach, and feeding the birds she so adored. She had a quiet way of bringing comfort to those around her, and her love for her family and others in need defined her life.
Mary was truly loved by everyone she came in contact with. Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her children and those she cared for.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2026. We invite all who knew and loved Mary to share memories and upload photos to her memorial page, as we come together to celebrate the incredible life she lived and the love she offered so freely.
