Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend
Mary Connie Valdez of Price, Utah passed away on February 12, 2024, surrounded by her children & grandchildren.
Mary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Guadelupe Guerrero and Mary
Ahalt, she was raised in Castle gate and Price, Utah.
Mary opted out of school to help her dad raise her younger siblings and always held a close relationship with them.
On October 8, 1966, Mary married her love, Arthur Valdez. They had three daughters, Connie, Lisa (passed away February 16, 1977), Artie, and one son, Arthur. They were blessed to have each other to share their love and life with for 57 years of marriage. Arthur sang to Mary even weeks before his passing a song he had sung to her since they were dating "you're the one
Her children were blessed, that she was able to be an at home mom.
Mary's homemade tortillas, beans and red Chile were a few dishes she made from scratch that was a favorite and enjoyed by many.
Mary had many talents beyond cooking and being a mom and wife. She could sew and created many fun barbies clothing in her day and even hanging dish towels that she sold to help raise money for the Church and toilet tissue holders. She loved to craft and paint, painting eyes so well that others in the class used to ask her to paint the eyes on their porcelain dolls as she had a steady hand and skill. Mary had a strong faith and was a prayer warrior, she had been a Sunday school teacher and a church secretary, clerk, and treasurer for many years.
Mary enjoyed visits from friends and family and offered coffee, sweets, or a plate of food to all who entered their home.
She enjoyed going thrift store shopping with her sisters and was blessed to hold a close relationship with her mother-in-law/momma and sister- in- law Bessie whom she considered a sister as they enjoyed each other's company and spent many years of love and laughter. Mary enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. many considered her a second mother.
Mary's favorite flowers were red roses and she loved hummingbirds and enjoyed collecting glass figurines of them.
Mary was proceeded in death by her husband Arthur Valdez, daughter Lisa Valdez, father Guadalupe Guerrero, mother Mary Ahalt, mother-in-law Lita Andrew, her siblings Connie Montoya, Shirley Burringo, Toby and Charlie Guerrero, Philip Ahalt and in– laws Bobby Burringo, Henry Valdez and his wife Pauline, Tony Valdez, and sister-in-law Bessie.
Mary is survived by her children: Connie (Carlos) Benjamin, Artie (Luis) Godina, and Arthur Valdez (Andrea).
Mary's legacy of family includes grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary will be missed deeply by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family & friends who knew and loved her.
