Matthew Melvin Luke's Obituary
Matthew (Matt) Melvin Luke, 44 of West Valley Utah, passed away on November 25, 2025. True to his adventurous spirit, Matt left this world the way he cherished most—on two wheels. He was born on October 26, 1981, in Provo Utah, to Boyd and Pam Luke, Matt’s journey was marked by warmth, generosity, and an enduring spirit for life.
Matt was raised in Lehi Utah where he made many friends and graduated from Lehi High School. Matt was a very hard worker and was quick to pick up any trade that he worked in. His natural curiosity led him to tinker, and he could fix almost anything. Matt went on to earn his Electrical Contractors license, he started and ran his own Electrical Business, Hole Shot Electric. Through his work and business, he met incredible people and built lasting friendships. He was always willing to go the extra mile and never shied away from difficult jobs. Several times he would do electrical work for people, and they would call him to do other jobs that they needed. He had a special way of caring for people; he had several elderly customers who would call him to come and help them out with regular tasks. He always made time for others and found genuine happiness in helping those around him.
From an early age Matt loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, exploring, and riding anything he could drive. He was always down for an adventure and would make any situation better by just being there. Matt would do anything for anyone, he loved to use his skills to help anyone who needed it whether they knew him well or not, he would step up and do whatever was needed. Matt had a special way of making you feel seen and of always being in the moment with you. Matt had the biggest heart, and he wore it on his face in the form of a huge, beautiful smile that he freely shared. He loved to laugh and joke around and had a knack for keeping things light. Matt was incapable of holding a grudge, he could say his peace and move on, no hard feelings. The world was a better place because of him.
Matt is survived by his parents, Boyd & Pam Luke; Brother JD Luke (Nicki, Landon & Brooklyn); Sister Leia Passey (Dave, Megan, Jessica & Jordan). Matt is also survived by his longtime girlfriend Stacie Nelson.
Matt’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for others will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
