Mavis Arlene Whittle's Obituary
Mavis Arlene Whittle, 93, passed away on December 26, 2024, at home.
Born on December 11, 1931, in Clawson, Utah to Andrew and Bessie Wright. She studied accounting at Salt Lake Community College. She married Virgil Whittle on November 21, 1956, in Salt Lake City. The two had three children.
Mavis was an avid “DIY” person and built several personal and family items. She enjoyed many hands-on activities and crafts. She loved music and played the piano. She was known for researching a variety of topics including family history. Mavis never stopped learning and encouraged her family to do the same. She loved her family and spent much of her time with them. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children; Vickie Dieffenbacher, Amy Hansen, and Wade Whittle; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will all miss her. She is preceded in death by her husband Virgil, her eight siblings, and several other family members. She was the last of her generation.
A celebration of Mavis’ life will be held at 11:00 AM on January 8, 2025, at the church building on 5905 S 4000 W, Kearns, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on January 7, 2025, at the same location.
