Maxie Lee "Max" Alexander Thomas' Obituary
Maxie Lee “Max” Alexander Thomas
1961 - 2016
Maxie Lee Alexander Thomas (Max) passed away June 16, 2016. Max was born in New Jersey to Maxie Thomas Sr. and Daisy Bell Hill on November 23, 1961.
Max spent his school years in Barnegat, New Jersey with his Grandma Eva, Grandpa and Joyce. He participated in track and football, as well as the A.V. Club. He spent his summers in Manhattan, New York with his Aunt Rose. A few years after graduating from Southern Regional High School Max moved to Utah with his good friends, the Sanders' family.
Max loved coaching football whether it was little league, high school or semi-pro. He was currently one of the coaches for the Davis Vipers. He also loved music. He played the harmonica and drums. He was recently able to check off an item on his bucket list by seeing his all time favorite band, Steely Dan, in concert with his wife.
Max was the type of man that made friends wherever he went. He was outgoing, accepting of all people and always saw the good in everyone. He had many life long friends and although there are too many to list he would want each of them to know how important to him they are. He loved God and Jesus and had a strong faith in Them.
Max is proceeded in death by his mother, father and grandparents. He leaves behind his loving wife, Emily, and his sons Marcus, Michael and Alex whom he loved dearly. His cousin whom he considered his big sis, Joyce Chambers, as well as Odweda and Choresse Chambers and his siblings (who he found three years ago) Tasha, Evette and Lamar. He also leaves behind his best friend Keith Walmar, Joe & Shirley Sanders, in laws Jerry and Kay Carrington, sister in law Mindy (Danny), many dear friends and many nieces and nephews.
We will be having a celebration of Max's life on June 24th from 5-9 pm at Barnes Park in Kaysville (950 W 200 N). His family asks that you bring a photo or a written memory that you have to the celebration of life.
