Maximo Orlando Concepcion Peralta's Obituary
Maximo Orlando Concepcion Peralta passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday, May 7, 2023 in South Jordan Utah.
He was survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Aura Concepcion, whom he married in Rincon de Piedras, Dominican Republic on July 3, 1965. He is also survived by his children whom he adored, Nathalie, Katherine, and Jesus Orlando, as well as his other loves, his grandchildren and great grandchild, Chelsea, Charlie, Chris, Spencer, Gabriela, Kody and Victor. Orlando is also survived by three sisters and a great number of nieces and nephews that viewed him as father, counselor, and mentor.
Our dear Orlando was born in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic on November 18, 1938. He studied engineering at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. Before moving to New Jersey in 1982, Orlando was a sales executive for La Quimica, DR for 15 years. Once in the United States, he dedicated himself to service, received an award as a leader of the SAJOMA community in Queens NY, and held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His greatest contribution was as Bishop of the same church. Through his 16 years of service in this position, he served in a selfless and loving way that made him a beloved leader, teacher, and guide.
Orlando had many passions throughout his life, three were constant: His family, his country, and his faith. Among his talents (and they were many) we want to shine a light on his writings – a legacy that keeps us close to him even in his absence.
Al Final
Cuando hayamos a emprender
el camino sin final
quiero irme antes que tu
para esperarte al llegar
Al llegar dije sin ver
que esto es irreflexivo
pues dije antes que final
no tiene aquel camino
Mas, con final o sin el
he de ir sin prontitud
y en el ire lentamente
hasta que me alcances tu
Y ya juntos en la nada
continuaremos los dos
amandonos como nunca
hasta encontrarnos con Dios.
Services to celebrate his life will take place in Utah on May 11th, New Jersey on June 17th and the Dominican Republic on June 24.
