Meagan Faith Sorensen's Obituary
Meagan Faith Sorensen came into our life the night of December 18, 1996.
She was born at 24 weeks, weighing 1 pound 4 ounces. She spent the first
14 months in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, fighting for her life,
overcoming many obstacles, surgeries and set backs. She proved from the
very beginning she was a strong spirit, with a determination to triumph
over life-threatening odds. Despite the many disabilities she faced, she
always maintained a happy disposition. Her greatest gift to her family was
unconditional love. She taught us to be loving, kind and calm with each
other. She was the center of our family. Because of Meagan, we learned
life lessons in service, compassion, patience, sensitivity to others,
appreciating the simple things in life, and most importantly, gratitude for
the beautiful miracle of living. Even though Meagan was completely
dependent on our care, her warm embrace, big smile, energetic laugh and
random vocalizations made all hardships worthwhile. We miss our sweet
little angel. We look forward to reuniting with her and enjoying all the
many activities we missed out on in this lifetime.
We want to thank the numerous caregivers, over the past 18 years, who
provided service, time, love and vested interest in her well-being. She was
well taken care of...as were we! We also want to express our love and
appreciation to family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances that have
showered us with food, treats, holiday gifts, flowers, cards, kind words
and service projects. We are truly blessed!
Final words from her youngest brother:
Hello, I'm Cooper. You might know me as the Meagan whisperer. Meagan was
a great sister. We all loved her so much. It's sad she has to be gone,
but that's life. We can't stop life, but as long as we remember her, she
will be with us. I remember many great times with her. She was the
greatest sister you could ask for. But when you are 9 like me, you don't
very much understand. So every chance I get with a wish, it's to bring her
back. She was awesome. So I wish she comes back!
Meagan Faith Sorensen is survived by her Dad, Ric Sorensen, her Mom, Sarah
Sorensen, her brother, Derrick Sorensen, and her brother, Cooper Sorensen.
She is also survived by a huge loving family on the Deakins side and a
smaller loving family on the Sorensen side.
