Megan Kathleen Cazier Serafín's Obituary
We are heartbroken by the passing of Megan (“Meg”) Kathleen Cazier Serafín, who left us on March 16, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1983 to Janet Kerr Cazier and Ben Cazier, and was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Meg was the proud mother of Ashton Gregory and Brenya Janet Cazier, both of whom she shared with their father Jeremy Wade with whom she lived for twelve years. Her family was a central part of her life, and she cherished the time spent with them.
She married Fernando Serafín on August 1, 2022. She often expressed her love and admiration for him. Their bond was evident in the way they supported each other, especially with Fernando’s cooking, which Meg thought was the best food ever. She always volunteered Fernando’s cooking services, asking him to make a dish for all our family dinners.
Megan was also the sister of her late brother Cody Cazier, who died in 1998. She is survived by her remaining siblings: Jake (LeAnn Hartmann), Melissa Greenberg (Alan), Matt (Annie Rogers), Kristy Sunday (Logan), Kenzie Mexican (Trevor), and Cody’s widow, Kim Halliday Monkres. She also leaves behind her three beloved cats—Juju, Kaja, and Misifus—and many nieces and nephews who love her dearly.
Family gatherings were lively with Megan around; her laughter and spirit brought joy to everyone. She had a unique personality and was always ready to stand up for what she believed in and to support those whom she cared for.
At Orem Smith’s, Meg was not just a butcher; she was a dedicated professional who fostered meaningful connections with her coworkers and customers alike. Her compassion extended well beyond her workplace; she had an unwavering love for animals and a heartfelt desire to assist those in need, particularly the elderly and individuals and animals with disabilities. Her kindness and empathy were evident in everything she did, making a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Despite the challenges Meg faced in her life, she remained a beacon of hope and love for those around her. Her unwavering spirit radiated warmth, and she embodied qualities that inspired everyone she encountered. With a heart full of kindness, compassion, and optimism, Meg transformed the lives of many and reminded all of the beauty found in love and connection, leaving a lasting impression that will be cherished by her family and friends.
One friend posted, “She was the kind of woman people spend a lifetime hoping to find—loyal to her core, full of integrity, and never judgmental. She loved deeply and showed up without hesitation, no matter the time or the circumstance.”
We take solace in the knowledge that Megan is now reunited with her brother Cody, whom she loved deeply. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Keith and Louise Foulger Kerr, and Tom and Cecile Bushell Cazier, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
