Melinda Marble Hatch's Obituary
MELINDA MARBLE HATCH
1936 - 2016
Melinda Marble Hatch, 80, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed from this life on September 3, 2016. She battled recurring cancer before it claimed her life at 80 years old.
Melinda was born in Tremonton Utah on March 9, 1936 to Nathanial Earl and Naomi Hansen the fourth child in a family of five. Her best friends growing up were her siblings: Jenae, LeAnn, and Emilee. She married the love of her life Herman K. Hatch on February 26, 1959 in the Logan LDS temple. Fate aligned them when Melinda went to San Francisco for dental nurses training but ended up working for the Telephone Company and Herman was transferred from Ft. Lewis Washington to Presidio San Francisco. They were blessed with 4 children: Daryl, Nathan, Barton & Molly.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving wherever she was called to serve. She lived her faith with pure devotion and found peace, comfort and strength in her relationship with God. Melinda’s joy in life was being a wife, mother and homemaker. She worked hard preferring to be a stay at home mom. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes with everyone and attempting new ones. Together with Herman she served a mission in the Independence Missouri visitors center, followed with 3 years in the Lindon, Utah Bishops Storehouse then 6 years in the LDS 12 step addiction recovery program. She is an example of love, nurturing womanhood, and enduring faith.
Melinda is survived by her husband Herman, children: Nathan (Janet) of Orem, Utah; Barton of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Molly (Ben) Fillerup of Salem, Utah; Sister Emilee (Barry) Bunker, St. George, Utah. 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first-born Daryl Hatch, grandson Samuel Hatch, parents, brother Nolan and two sisters, LeAnn Garfield and Jenae Anderson.
We gratefully acknowledge the work of Kathy Muirhead and Tatiana Cucuk and others from Comfortworx hospice.
