Michael William Boesch's Obituary
Michael William Boesch, 77, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, to Kathleen Boland and William Boesch.
Mike attended Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School and went on to graduate from the University of Dayton in 1970. Following his graduation, he moved to the Cleveland area, where he built a long and successful career with Bailey Controls—later known as ABB Automation—serving as a dedicated Project Manager for 40 years.
At age 32, Mike joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful and devoted member throughout his life. He gave meaningful service in many capacities, including as house manager during the production of “This is Kirtland,” and later as a guest service missionary at Temple Square from January 2014 to February 2017.
Mike found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was once an avid golfer and bowler and cherished time spent biking with his children during their years growing up in Ohio. He had a love for travel and exploring new places. In his later years, he enjoyed ushering at local sporting events—especially for the Utah Jazz and Bees baseball—as well as at performances at Hale, Pioneer, and Grand theaters.
He is survived by his children: Lindsay Marie Boesch; Whitney Gail (Mark) Tonkinson; Ashley Brooke (Shane) Rivera; and Daniel Michael Boesch. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Elliott, Bennett, Thomas, Peter, and Jack Tonkinson, and Liam and Kenya Rivera; his siblings, James Dennis Boesch (Carmela), Julie Marie (Douglas) Busch, and William Charles Boesch Jr.; as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Belvedere Ward Building, 607 Downington Ave S., Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
