I can’t come up with just one memory, because my Uncle Mike was my person, most my childhood, I believed he was the only person who really got me. He taught me how to swim until I became a dolphin & never wanted to come up for air. He had the coolest cars & newest electronics. And when I was planning to runaway, he offered me a safe place to turn to. I ended up not going that direction but knowing I always had him in my corner was my saving grace. I guess the memory that stands out the most was when I was 23 & took my 2nd sons dad to vegas; this was before I got pregnant with Jaylen. Uncle Mike had to work the whole time I was there, he was working really long shifts at the time. So we didn’t get to see each other the 3 days I was there, but we talked on the phone one of the nights. I remember I gave Kevin $300 & told him to go gamble & have fun, I’m gonna talk to my uncle & we talked for 3 hours no problem, until it was last time for him to go to bed. We had the best most memorable conversation & if only I’d known at the time I had one jackpot that night; because that was worth far more than what money can buy. I know we have had our ups & downs ever since, but I was honored when he named his dog Jessie & my heart broke in a million pieces when I got the news that he died. I’ll miss you uncle Mike.
Love your favorite niece, Jess
