Michael Helaman Foster's Obituary
Michael Helaman Foster, 29, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away at home
due to complications of an enlarged heart with heart disease. He was found
in his room on December 26th.
Michael was born on September 14, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah to
Stephen and Miriam Foster (nee Bru). He had never married and had no
children.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Miriam (Tiffany Cole), Grandfather
Denny Bru, Grandmother (Hilda) Maxine Foster, and Stepbrother Timothy
Wills.
He is survived by his Father Stephen (Melissa) Foster, and Siblings Scott
Wolters, Christina Wolters, Brittney Foster, Michelle Foster and Anthony
Foster, Stepsiblings Josh Wills, Jules Wills, Hayden (Vince) Parker and
Thomas Woods, Grandfather James Foster, Grandmother Sharon
(Eugene) Drake, Aunt Melody (Bob) Wallberg, Aunt Suzy (Ross) Woolf,
Uncle Clint Bru, Aunt Donnette (Reggie) VanWagoner, and numerous
cousins.
Michael struggled with learning disabilities from a childhood traumatic brain
injury and was also diagnosed with Autism. He attended Bingham High
School and graduated from South Valley School. He learned how to
comfortably use buses and trains by himself to get around town, as well as
being able to ride an electric scooter and go shopping by himself. He was
also able to work and support himself for most of his adult life. In his later
years he fought with morbid obesity and high blood pressure.
Michael was known for being kind-hearted and willing to help others. He
had a sweet and gentle nature. He loved reading, drawing, listening to
music, and playing Magic the Gathering with his friends at Oasis Games.
He also enjoyed comics and movies and loved to share his knowledge and
stories about them. He loved animals, especially lions and his cat named
Oopsie.
A viewing will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the
Cobble Creek LDS Ward Meetinghouse located at 8176 South 5140 West,
West Jordan, Utah 84081.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, with a luncheon for family
members immediately following.
There will be no graveside service.
