Michael Clark Murdoch's Obituary
A giant oak has fallen. Michael Clark Murdoch. Though he was short of stature, he was a giant in our lives. He was born on February 28, 1936 to David Lennox Murdoch and Ora Maurine Clark. He passed away on June 4, 2021 of heart failure. He is survived by his wife Connie Riley Murdoch and children: Janthia (Gary) Hamblin, Kathryn (Kim) Reid, David (Barbara) Murdoch and Mike (Rebecca) Murdoch. Additionally there are 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in law Arthel Murdoch, and sister Janet (Allan) Wilson . He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother William (Bill) and parents-in-law Herbert Riley and Virginia Sturm Riley.
He was Jack-of-all-Trades and very inventive. He loved to help people. He loved carpentry and built lovely and clever things. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. His testimony of Jesus Christ was firm. He served a mission to Great Britain 1956-1958. He served faithfully in many callings in the Church. He and Connie served together in the Australia Sydney North Mission 2002-2004. He was privileged to serve as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for eight years. He and Connie enjoyed square dancing for 30 years.
He was a wonderful husband and father - always positive, supportive, patient and kind.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 am in the West Jordan 57th Ward chapel 7511 So. 2700 West, West Jordan, UT.
Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the chapel, and Saturday morning 9:30 - 10:40 am prior to the service.
