Michael Leon Ruiz's Obituary
Michael Leon Ruiz, 80, passed away at his home on August 5th. Born Oct. 19, 1941. Son of Bernard J and Pearl (Shields) Ruiz, He grew up in Salt Lake City. He graduated from West High School and Attended the University of Utah. He joined the Marines and was Honorably discharged in 1961. Michael was employed at Tooele Army Depot as Chief of Quality Control until his retirement.
Michael married Kathryn Koenig. Later Divorced. They had 2 daughters, Wendy (Montano) and Tracy (Palmer), 4 grandchildren, Anthony Montano (Deceased), Jordan Montano, Cody Palmer, Hollsie Palmer Turner and 4 great grandchildren.
Michael loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and being with his family. He had many talents including amazing wildlife sketches and could build or fix anything. He was the life of every party and always had a story to tell. He was quick to smile and laugh, and anyone he met never forgot him. He was an Incredible, amazing man and father. He was loved and will be missed by everyone.
A Visitation and service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2:00 P.M. at Premier Funeral Services, 67 East 8000 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. A Celebration of Life will be held after the service in South Riverton.
