Michael Richard Valdez's Obituary
Michael Richard Valdez, 66, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 10:40 p.m. He was born November 30, 1952 to the prominent parents Manuel and Beatrice Valdez in Ogden, Utah. He attended East High school. He later met, fell in love and married Hope Martinez on July 26, 1974. They were later divorced but remained good friends. Mike was well known for what he did best keeping his cars shiny and riding his Harley up and down State street most days. He loved a good bbq with his friends and family. His favorite was dessert especially the pineapple cream pie his daughter made for him every year for his birthday. He was very independent and seldom asked for help from anyone. Mike was from the old school and was raised to show respect. He enjoyed playing and teasing his grandkids. They often would end up locked out by grandpa Mike. He lived a good life and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his ex-wife Hope Martinez, siblings Jerry(Merina), Margie, Alex, Herman and Belinda(Mike). His children, Victor(Irene) and Rico(Alicia). 17 grandkids and 7 great grandkids with 1 more on the way. And many, many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Solomon Martinez, parents Manuel and Beatrice Valdez and daughter Nina Martinez.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 5:00p.m. at Centro de Vida Cristiana located at 1055 north Redwood Road. We will also be having a pot luck dinner afterwards at same location. Sandwiches, drinks and cake will be provided and ask those who are able to bring a dish to share with guests.
