Milan Owen Venn's Obituary
Milan Owen Venn, of Nordic Valley, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, following a brief illness.
Milan was born on January 8, 1939, in Cass County, North Dakota, to Dorothy and Chester Venn. After high school, Milan moved west and settled in Great Falls, Montana, where he joined the Montana Air National Guard. He attained the rank of Master Sargeant with the Guard, before retiring in 1988.
Following his retirement from the Guard, Milan moved to Utah, where he married the love of his life, Mavis Day (née Mitchell) on August 13, 1988. Mavis preceded him in death on November 29, 2018.
Once in Utah, Milan worked as a maintenance worker and a UTA bus driver before eventually retiring from McDonnell Douglas in 1998.
After his retirement, he and Mavis moved from Roy to Nordic Valley, where they enjoyed a large community of good friends and neighbors.
Milan was a big fan of the road trip and loved traveling to the National Parks – his favorite being Glacier. He was an avid sportsman, a skilled handyman, and someone who enjoyed lively conversation. He will be remembered for his practical talents, his friendly presence, and the many connections he made with those around him.
Through his marriage to Mavis, Milan became a beloved member of an extended family that includes Mike (Carla) Price, Janeen (Mike) Quinn, Bart Price, and Scott Price (Matthew Mielewski); grandchildren Jackie (Christian) Cunningham, Cole (Katherine) Price, Amanda Quinn, and Stephanie Quinn (Carlos Pereira da Silva); and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dee (John) Clark.
