Mildred Louise Evans' Obituary
Mildred Louise Carlisle Evans, 73, of West Valley City, Utah, returned to our Father in Heaven on May 28, 2024, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She was battling with necrotizing myopathy and other health conditions. She was surrounded with family, friends and loved ones during her final days filed with laughter and tears as stories were told by all. Louise passed away peacefully on her mother’s birthday.
Louise was born on August 27, 1950 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Thomas and Mildred Carlisle. She was the 5th of 6 children, her only surviving sibling is her brother is Joseph (Joey) Carlisle. She was raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi and later moved to Utah in her teens to live with her older sister Josephine Brinkerhoff and her family. She went to school with her sister Josephines children and became very close to them. She graduated from Granger High School. She was married on November 21, 1974 to Walter Evans. They had 4 children together. After their marriage came to an end Louise remained focused on being a great mom and providing for her children. Family was extremely important to Louise She always made time to make sure everyone in her family felt loved and important.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Laura Anne Evans, Kristina Louise Evans, Steven Evans, and Johnny M. Evans. Her first grandchild, Alissa Reinholtz was born to her daughter Kristina Evans. She was also blessed to have a great daughter in-law, Lacey Watson Evans married to Steven Evans and brought 3 more grandchildren with her, Riley Keller, Harley Keller and Gracey Keller.
As a child she enjoyed helping her parents with their small furniture refurbishing company, Carlisle Upholstery Shop. She loved playing with her siblings Mary and Joey.
Louise enjoyed the little things in life. Like taking her kids to the park, the movies, going to Arby’s or going to get cinnamon rolls from the Winder Dairy. She loved giving and receiving cards. She had a very large family and always reached out to see how they were doing or if they needed anything. She loved going out to eat with Laura Anne as she loved trying new restaurants. She loved her home in West Valley where she had her favorite cats Pumpkin, Loki and Laie. Louise loved cats and made sure her cats were cared for.
Louise loved going to the movies and going out to eat. She loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone to them as much as possible. Her family was her pride and joy and there was nothing she liked better than talking about them. She loved listening to music from the oldies and country. She loved reading and collecting books and movies.
She enjoyed spending time with her longtime friends Nancy, Rosemary, and Mary Louise. She always looked forward to sending and receiving letters and cards. She kept every letter, card and pictures that everyone has sent her through the years. We will always remember her beautiful smile, her welcoming warmth, southern charm and accent, and her sweet and kind personality. She loved taking pictures and we will always remember her picture taking stance.

Service for Louise Evans will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 9:30am for the viewing followed by the funeral at 11am. The viewing and the funeral will be held at Granger west Meetinghouse located at 3901 West 2925 South West Valley City, Utah 84120. The graveside service will be in the Valley View Memorial Park located at 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120, directly after the funeral.
