Mildred Lorane Nielsen
1935 – 2017
Our mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 28, 2017 at her home. She was born January 8, 1935 in Brooklyn, Utah to Thomas Durham Shaw and Ivy Lorane Lott. She attended South Sevier High School, graduating in 1954. She married Arthur Gayle Nielsen, January 8, 1955 in her mother’s home in Elsinore, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, December 16, 1955.
Mildred was a loving and giving, caring woman to her children and those in need. She dedicated her life to caring for her 5 children, Kelly Gayle Nielsen, Kimbalee Thurgood, tony Shaw Nielsen, Layne Nielsen and Wendy Lorane Bradshaw and a wonderful grandmother to her 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Illeen Bell, Merle Ogden, Bernice Ogden, Arland Shaw, Ruth Richards; son, Kelly Nielsen and grandson, Robert Thurgood.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 12:00 pm at the Western Hills Stake Center, 5380 W. 5400 So. with a viewing prior to services starting at 10:30. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. West Jordan, Utah.
