Mildred Smith Sands' Obituary
Mildred (Millie) Smith Sands, of Salt Lake City, Utah was born December 2, 1924 and died on August 11, 2014 from causes incident to age.
She married Gerald (Jerry) Folsom on November 24, 1948. They had three children and were later divorced.
She married William (Bill) Sands in 1983, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was a long time resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and spent her happiest years there with Bill.
Millie was born in Salt Lake City, and was raised both here and in California. She worked at and retired from Intermountain Motor Lines. She was an avid golfer, and a member of the Happy Niner’s, a ladies golf league. She was also a long time member of the Red Hat Society, the Moose Club and other civic organizations in Lake Havasu. She returned to Salt Lake City in 2006 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Joann) Smith, Bountiful Utah; children, Scott (Jan) Folsom, Denise (Michael) Lauer both of Salt Lake and Michele (Brian) Anderson, Meridian, Idaho; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, as well as 4 nieces and a nephew.
