Milford Laverl VanWeerd Sr.
Milford passed away on December 26, 2022 at the age of 91 in Salt Lake City.
Mitford was born on October 3,1931 in Almelo ,Overijsel, Netherlands to Jan Hendrick VanWeerd Sr. and Grietje Simonia (Mona) Wienbelt.
He came to the United States when he was 18 years old.
He served in the Army and Air Force.
He earned a degree from Weber State. He worked for Davis County School District until he retired at age 62.
He married Alice Merle Cooke on November 21, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 5 children. They were married until she passed away on December 27, 1971.He then married Erlene Bingham Holden on April 28, 1972 she had 4 children and they had 4 children together. She passed away August 3, 2020
He loved to fish and collect coins and stamps. He also loved spending time with his friends and family.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clearfield 18th Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, both his wives, 2 sons Verl VanWeerd and Troy Holben and a daughter Mary Lamberson.
He is survived by his children John (Carolyn) VanWeerd, Richard Summers, Dean (Brenda) VanWeerd, Arnold (Marie) VanWeerd, Earl VanWeerd, Elisabeth VanWeerd, Joshua VanWeerd, Robbie (Toni) Holden, Heidi Ross, Holly De Masters.
Viewings will be Friday, January 6, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. And Saturday January 7, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am. At The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house at 151 N. 1000 W. Clearfield, Utah.
Funeral will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house at 151 N. 1000 W. Clearfield, Utah.
