Milton Timothy Zuver's Obituary
Milton Timothy Zuver, known to his friends as “Tim”, passed away on January 10th, 2024 in the home that he loved with his family by his side. Tim was receiving care from Hospice of Utah during the final months of his life and we are grateful for the compassion and support they provided to him and our family during this time.
Tim was born on May 4, 1947 in Boise, Idaho to Mary Lou Small and Willard Adelbert Zuver. He was the middle child of three boys and at a young age, he and his family relocated to Holladay, Utah where his father worked as a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for many years.
In 1965, at the age of 18, Tim was conscripted into the U.S. Army where he quickly rose to the rank of platoon sergeant for the 24th Infantry Division stationed out of Augsburg, Germany. He served in this capacity until 1968 when he was honorably discharged and returned home to the Salt Lake Valley where he would reside for the remainder of his life.
In 1982, Tim met Debra (Debby) Dean on the slopes of Alta Ski Resort and in 1983 they married. In 1985 thier daughter Downy was born. Together, they spent many years restoring and showcasing vintage Volkswagen Bugs in local car shows and in 1994 they purchased their dream home in Historic Sandy which they spent the next decade lovingly restoring to its original glory.
Tim loved to be outdoors and spent much of his time camping, skiing, fishing and boating. He also had an amazing green thumb and took immense pride in his garden and his yard. Much of his time in the latter years of his life was spent watching his quail run around in his yard which he had dubbed "Quail Canyon Inn".
Tim is survived by his loving and patient wife, Debra Dean Zuver as well as his daughters, Nichole (Aaron) Bancroft of Vernal, Utah and Downy (Andy) Bowles of Sandy, Utah. He was also the proud grandfather and great-grandfather of Cameron, AJ, Ally, Baylexx and Carleigh. Tim also leaves behind a brother, Bruce Zuver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Mary Lou, as well as his older brother, Zuke Zuver.
Tim’s piercing blue eyes, joyous laughter and sarcastic sense of humor in all situations will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A private celebration of life with friends and family will occur at a later date.
The blue tarp has been retired.
