Mindy Kristine Hassard's Obituary
Mindy Kristine Hassard
Springville, UT - Mindy Kristine Hassard 53, passed away on Monday January 31st, 2022 after a courageous battle with mental health.
Mindy was born on February 4th 1968 in Salt Lake City, UT to Myron and Sherryl Hassard and raised in the SLC area. Many of her playful childhood Summers were spent in Yellowstone with her family as her father was a seasonal park ranger.
She truly has an adventuresome and enthusiastic soul. She found solace, comfort and spirit spending time with Mother Earth; traveling the land, going on hikes, walks to feel the Earth and creatures presence. She LOVED Yellowstone and was baptized at 8 years old in the Firehole River in Yellowstone Nat’l Park. She had many pets including birds, cats and dogs. Mindy and Colby’s favorite, as she raised him, was a dachshund, mix, named Jed.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a vibrant testimony of Jesus Christ. The energy and spirit of the Natives also greatly influenced her spiritual beliefs. Her courage instilled her faith which allowed her to inspire many. She frequently sent inspirational quotes and scriptures to family and friends. She had a great love for the temple and it was a significant focus in her life. She enjoyed spending time learning about her ancestors and family history.
She was a wonderful grandma and absolutely adored her two grandchildren. They brought tremendous light into her life and were her main anchor in challenging times. When she wasn’t spending time with them she was talking about them and looking forward to the next time with them. She also very much enjoyed spending time with her four siblings, other family and her many friends.
She had a natural way about her to see a need and fulfill it. She connected with others by being genuine and kind in thought and action. She empathized naturally. She will be remembered by her fun, silly, light hearted personality, along with her loving and compassionate soul.
Mindy is survived by her son, Colby Hassard and her two grandchildren, Jemie and Desmond, as well as her siblings: Sherlyn (Chris) Tambasco, Jason (Mialah) Hassard, Rebekah (Alex) Pepenella, and Rachel (Ben) Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherryl and Myron Hassard.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing and funeral in Mindy’s honor at her church building located at 1627 Cadbury Ln., Springville, UT. 84663 on Saturday February 5th. Viewing will be from 10-11 am followed by the funeral at 11:30 am. The family wishes to thank all the many who loved and cared for Mindy.
