MINOLA (NONIE) LANE HOPKINS ROTHWELL
Minola (Nonie) Lane Hopkins Rothwell of Spanish Fork, Utah went to be with her Lord on September 2, 2016 at the age of 83 at her home. She was born on February 14, 1933 in Albany, Missouri to Charlie and Grace Smith Lane. She grew up in Missouri and had one brother, Danny Dean and one sister, Velda Lorraine. She enjoyed playing with her cousins and growing up in the country.
She married Don Hopkins and they had two children, Jerry Don and Linda Rose. They moved to Utah in 1957 and later divorced. She married George Rothwell and they lived in various places due to George’s work as a heavy duty mechanic in the road construction industry. They later divorced.
During her life, and as a single mother for a time, she worked several jobs all at the same time, providing for her family. She worked full-time at Fritzi’s during the week, sold Tupperware in the evenings, and tended bar on weekends. She loved to fish, crochet and go out to eat. She recalls a hunting trip where she rode a horse for nine days and it was the first time she had been on a horse.
She attended Crossings Church in Spanish Fork and was a faithful member. She had many friends there to whom she always offered a smile and hug, and she was loved by all who knew her. She loved her family with all her heart and they were first and foremost on her mind. She prayed for them always. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Huff, Gina Cook, Wyatt Christensen, Kelly Hopkins, Chelsie Flannery, J.D. Hopkins, and Jesse Hopkins; nine great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother and sister, daughter Linda Christensen and son, Jerry Lane.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Crossings Church, 683 North 920 East, Spanish Fork, Utah at 7:00 pm. A fund is available and donations accepted through Crossings Church to help the family with expenses.
