Monte Darrel Scothern's Obituary
Monte Darrel Scothern, age 81, passed away December 24, 2018 at his home in Syracuse, Utah. Born April 1, 1937 in Tremonton, Utah to Samuel and Ara Pierson Scothern. Monte married Sandra Hoefferle January 12, 1967 in the Logan Temple. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Angela Marie Scothern. Monte served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission. He honorably served his country in the US Army from 1956-1959. He attended and received a Bachelors Degree from Weber State College, and a Master of Science from the University of Utah. Monte worked as a Senior Electronic Tech for Hill Air Force Base and also at Thiokal. He enjoyed working as an “extra” in movies for the LDS Church and Hallmark.
Monte is survived by his eternal sweetheart, Sandy; daughter, Angela; sisters Aralee Scothern, Jean Bonham, Ann Child, Sally Waite, LaDawn Sorenson, and brother Norman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Syracuse 9th Ward, 1525 West 1175 South. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 pm on Thursday, and again at 10:00 am on Friday. Interment to follow at the Syracuse City Cemetery.
