Myrna Jesperson Fairbanks' Obituary
Myrna, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully, on January 22, 2011 from complications of a stroke. She was born July 16, 1930 in Binghampton, (Tucson) Arizona the youngest child of Oscar F. and Martha Abegg Jesperson. She attended schools in Phoenix, AZ. While attending BYU, she married Ortho R. Fairbanks February 18, 1949 five days before he left for a mission in New Zealand. She is survived by her husband, children Moana (Dwayne) Liddell, Nancy (Vincent) Farr, Jared (Karen), Malia (Brent) Allsop, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Roy Jesperson, Max (Virginia) Jesperson and Oscar Jesperson. Preceded in death by her son Hyrum, parents, sisters Marzelle (Eugene) Mangum, Ione (Mahlan) Simonson, Irene Johnson, Lela (Patrick) Dalton, sister in laws Bernice and Dorene Jesperson. She cherished time with her family. She loved her Father in Heaven and Elder Brother Jesus Christ. Beautiful music, flowers, clouds and all aspects of this life brought her tears, great joy and happiness. She loved learning and sharing with others. She held many positions in the LDS Church and community. She served as president of a school and hospital boards. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving as President of the Salt lake Canyon Trails Company for four years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Salt Lake Canyon Rim Stake Center at 3051 South 2900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah where a viewing will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 28, 2011 and Saturday prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Her request is that in lieu of flowers you take a loved one or friend to lunch and give them a hug and show them you love them.
