Joanne Slama, my wife, asked Naida to paint ‘Man’s Three Best Friends’ for me, Leonard Slama for our 23rd Anniversary in 1977. This picture has my wife-Joanne, my horse-Bally, and my dog-Pal in this beautiful painting.
Joanne passed away October 1, 2021 and today is Joanne’s birthday, October 13, 2021 and I’m grateful for Naida’s talent. I have this picture on the wall, to look at, every day ‘til the day I’m gone to be with her. I want to share this note with her family.

I remember when I was 6 years old, we had just moved to the United States.
My parents dropped me off at Gigi´s house. Up until then my other Grandmother had held me every night of my life. So I went into Gigi´s room, took her by the hand and nudged her to come with me into the guestroom and pulled her arm around me and she held me tightly just like I needed. Just as she did when I became a new mother and was overwhelmed with everything and had no Idea what I was doing.
My Grandmother was my safe haven so many times and for that I will always be greatful.
You will never be forgotten, I will treasure you in my heart forever.
