Nancy Louise Taft Leinbach's Obituary
Nancy Louise Taft Leinbach
1926 - 2016
Nancy Louise Taft Leinbach, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on December 19, 2016.
Born, March 1, 1926, and raised in Binghamton, New York, she treasured her family. She had loving parents, a sister and best friend, "Taffy", and a brother, Frank, who died in infancy. Nancy met and married (June 21, 1947) the love of her life, Robert Rich Leinbach.
Nancy loved being "in" or "on" the water. She taught "in" the water for nearly 40 years, children of all ages how to swim, and especially loved teaching those who were deaf and blind. She also loved to cruise "on" the oceans with her family and friends. Nancy possessed high levels of energy and had a great love for music and exercise, which she combined for many years into teaching and leading her exercise classes for the elderly who loved Nancy's infectious spirit and enthusiasm.
Nancy's lifelong passion was socializing and meeting people, and sharing the Gospel, so much so, she served an LDS mission (North Carolina, Raleigh Mission) shortly after her husband passed away (January 13, 1991).
She had a special gift of teaching, and blessed many lives in, and out of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an amazing missionary and teacher the remainder of her days.
She is survived by her five children, William T. Leinbach (Jana), Kathryn R. Leinbach Tenney (Harold), James N. Leinbach (Jill), Jon S. Leinbach (Peggy), Betsy V. Leinbach Cahoon (Robert), 18 grand children, and 46 great-grand children, all of whom have brought her great joy, and an abundance of love. She will always be in our hearts, which will help us fill the void we feel while we are separated from her.
