Nancy was amazing! I will never forget a couple of years ago in the early morning she came knocking on the door. When I opened it to my surprise there was the most beautiful (and yummy) strawberry pie! "Happy Birthday she exclaimed!" with a big smile on her face. Even when she wasn't feeling well she was always thinking of others. I also remember many years ago when I was going through nursing school, I had to take a theater class to fill some humanities credits and I needed to go to a live play at Weber State. I had to go see the play named, "Red Noses" which I had no idea what it was about. The girls dressed very skimpy and after we got out of the play she said, "I feel just like I went to an R rated play." Brad had just come home from his mission and was going to school. She said, "I sure hope Brad never goes to these theater programs." We laughed and vowed we wouldn't do that any more! Once again when I was single and had no one to go with she was there for me. She is the most Christ like person I know and when she bore her testimony you could feel the spirit so strong and know of her LOVE for our Heavenly Father and the Savior! What an amazing woman Nancy Mecham has been all her life. When our children were young we often spent Sunday evenings together making and eating delicious caramel popcorn. I still use her recipe every Christmas.
She was always busy, industrious and concerned about others. She was such a great cook, and she made such delicious food. When I was called many years ago to do the food for a Laurels camp, I needed help and Nancy was the first person that came to mind. We had so much fun and worked so hard. She was never afraid of hard work, whether it was gardening, fixing up her house, or helping someone else. She was one of those women we revere and love forever.
We spent time together at our cabin and at theirs. Gary and Marty loved their BYU teams, and spend many times playing ball together. Gary and Nancy were both such great examples for good in this world. We will always cherish our special memories and fun times spent with the Mechams. Bless you Gary and kids, nothing could be greater for you than to have had this beautiful wife and mother, who loved you all unconditionally!!

I was the school secretary at Lincoln Elementary in Layton, where Nancy taught. We became good friends and in the mornings, before school began, her and I would go walking & talking. In the bad weather we would walk the halls, but in good weather, we would walk outside. Nancy was such a sweet, wonderful friend. We had such good visits as we walked and at other times. I grew to love her.

Nancy was a loving parent that would help any out by let people come in and give good advice to that that needed help and offered her home for act of kindness also shows love other by service. Prays be with the meacham family
There are no words to express my love for her. Such a wonderful friend. The most selfless person I have ever known. She always put everyone else’s needs before her own.
She took care of my newborn child when I was too sick to take care of him myself. She made me a dress to wear to a special event because I didn’t have the money to buy one. After her mother passed she gave me her beautiful clothes because she knew I needed them.
We did everything together. We canned the food from her garden which she always shared with me. We gleaned fields, refinished furniture, made crafts, went shopping and had good talks. We helped each other through rough times. Still vivid memories after so many years.
She chastised me several times for moving away and leaving her behind. I loved her dearly. She was like a sister to me.

My dear friend Nancy who I’ll always remember as I had the opportunity to serve with her in the Relief Society Presidency years ago. And she has left a lasting impressions on me that will last forever.. I have always loved her greatness of true gospel living with her example of daily living. My life have been blessed to have known her. I hope to have our friendship last for eternities. Thanks Nancy for the wonderful life you have lived.
Nancy was my mentor teacher, role model as a mother, and friend. She treated me like family. We spent a lot of time together before and after school, sharing many ideas of ways to reach and teach our students. We also shared our love and concerns about our kids and became very close. I also remember having fun with Nancy, Gary and other teacher friends at her home and cabin. We love playing cards and visiting. Her grandkids would come over to the school to help her set up her classroom and pop in and help her with setting up her classroom every nine weeks, at our Lincoln Elementary, Year Round School! I became close to her granddaughter, Lindsay and even persuaeded Nancy to let her help me too! She would say, “ Lindsay is here to help me Hehehe, and then Lindsay would come over and help me too! Lindsay would help me like she was part of my family and although she has moved away and has her hubby and two little boys, she still has my number and keeps me posted! Nancy and Gary and their kids, grandkids, know how important family is and through their examples, have mentored me as I really had a very disfunctional family growing up and when I joined the Church Of Jesus Christ, I looked for mentors to help me raise my children in the gospel. When I began teaching, my family moved away from Richmond, Utah and I was single with my three kids. We really didn’t have family and Nancy took me under her wings! I learned so much from this wonderful lady and her family! I will miss her but I understand God’s plan and look forward to seeing her again. I want to thank the Mecham’s for sharing their mother, wife, and grandmother, with me and my family as she taught me more than anyone , how to be a better mom, and grandma to my family by her love and example!
Much love and prayers for the family! Fond memories of Sister Mecham! One of the BEST youth leaders that I ever known! Definitely helped mold my life, and and develop my testimony so I could endure the challenges of life! She made me feel loved!

Where do you begin on memories of this amazing lady. I will remember the fun times we had playing together at family reunions. Reading scriptures and being part of family prayers when I would come visit. Her happy and loving spirit that she shared with one and all. I will love her forever and am grateful that she will be my aunt for eternity.
