Nancy Ruf's Obituary
Nancy Ruf, 67, of Pinedale, Wyoming died on September 17, 2015 after a brief hospitalization at the University of Utah Hospital and Care Source and Hospice in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the partner-in- life of Karen G. Fernsten, of Pinedale, Wyoming for 40 years. Nancy and Karen were married in Susanville, California on October 2, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, Nancy was the daughter of Richard L. Ruf of West Chester, Pa. and the late Helen M. Ruf.
In addition to her spouse and her father, she is survived by her brother, Richard P. Ruf of West Chester, Pa, her niece Kimberly Miller of Bozeman, MT and her nephews Matthew Ruf of Lambertville, NJ and Jason Ruf of Yardley, PA.
A graduate of the University of Utah with a B.S. in Health, she started her career as a recreational therapist at Seashore House, Atlantic City, NJ. Nancy worked there for fourteen years. She also held a Master of Education from Temple University and a post Master Certificate of Advanced Study from the College of Information Studies, Drexel University. Nancy held jobs in Database applications and also was a computer teacher at St. James School, Ventnor, NJ.
Nancy loved the outdoors, summering at their cabin in Wyoming, float trips, kayaking, hiking and skiing. Her hobbies were photography and stain glass work. She loved spending time with their many rescue labs and she especially enjoyed sharing her many skills with the younger generation.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place in Pinedale, Wyoming at Rendezvous Pointe on October 10, 2015 at 4 pm.
