Nancy Joyce Markham Sessions' Obituary
Nancy Joyce Markham Sessions passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2025, at her home in Orem, Utah. She was born on October 6, 1957 in Lancaster, California, to Keith and Lela Markham, the third in a family of seven children.
Nancy enjoyed cooking and sewing, reading and traveling. She graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles.
Nancy married Lynn Ralph Sessions in the Manti Temple on March 1, 1979. They raised three children, Cory, Shantisha (Tisha), and Chonsie.
They enjoyed camping and were preppers. They raised fruits and vegetables. Lynn was the main gardener, and Nancy canned the produce. She made quilts for her nieces and nephews for their weddings and their babies as well as quilts for friends. Painful joints and legs eventually slowed her down.
Nancy made and kept many friends with her kind and generous personality. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a firm belief that she would be with her loved ones forever. She loved her Savior and Heavenly Father.
She leaves behind her son, Cory, his wife, Danielle, granddaughter, Lily, daughter, Chonsie grandsons, Trayden and Kylynn, sisters, Diane Humann, Marilyn Markham, Carol Anderson, and brothers, Stephen Markham, Glen Markham, and Alan Markham.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter, Shantisha. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 10am to 10:50am with the funeral at 11am. Both will be at the Aspen 9th Ward Chapel, 828 W. 1600 N., Orem, Utah 84057.
