Nedra Hansen's Obituary
Nedra passed away peacefully on February 4, 2012 at the age of 93 with her family gathered together. Nedra was born on October 19, 1918 to George Nelson and Elma Bell Droubay on the family ranch in Erda, Utah. She grew up in South Pasadena, California and in her senior year of high school moved with her mother and siblings to Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. She met the love of her life, Kay Hansen, and married on September 26, 1938; together they had 3 children. Kay and Nedra were married for 60 years. She and Kay were active members in the Elks Association and made many friends. Nedra retired from the Tooele Army Depot after 30 years of service Preceded in death by Kay in 1998 and survived by her children, Larry (Kathy), Dennis (Eileen), Judy (Woody). Her three grandchildren, Aaron (Amy), Matt (Andi), Heidi (Travis) and one great grandchild, Nadine. She dearly loved them all and was extremely proud and talked of them often. We will miss our Mom and her love of life and especially her laugh. Her spirit will live on in all of us. We take comfort in knowing that Mom and Dad are together again. We would like to thank the staff of Coventry Assisted Living and Hospice of Utah for their loving care of our Mom. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, February 25 at Coventry Assisted Living (6895 So. Whitmore Way, Cottonwood Heights). In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Humane Society in honor of Mom's love of dogs. (www.utahhumane.org or by mail P.O. Box 573659, Murray, UT 84157)
