Memories of Nila. Where to start? Sluffing school together. A lot! Cokes, candy bars and long talks at the Hi Spot. A lot. She reminded me on our last hike together of the time I stole her boyfriend. I asked her why we stayed friends. She said boyfriends come and go but our friendship was forever. It was and it will be.
We raised our babies together until I had five and she had six and life got crazy. Her Mike and my Lori were going to grow up and marry each other. So many fun play dates at her house in Provo Canyon.
We didn’t see each other every day or even every month but if I needed a shoulder to cry on Nila was always who I called. She knew all of my secrets and never judged. I never needed a therapist because I had her on the the other end of the line of hundreds of phone calls. My pea patch always got us together in the summer. She did love fresh peas and I loved our visits when she came to pick them. There will be tears when they’re ready this year because I had anticipated our visit as they were being planted a couple of weeks ago.
She was an amazing lady, a true friend, a wonderful mom and grandma, a beautiful soul and an inspiration as she carried on through any trial with a zest for life that would exhaust any 20 year old. I love and miss you my sweet and beautiful friend . ❤️
