Nola Cole's Obituary
“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again”
Nola Cole, 78, Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2016 at 10:10 am.
Nola was born October 2, 1937 to Gerald and Emma Emerson. Nola relocated to Salt Lake City, UT when she was 18/19 years old, where she met and married Travis Casey (d. 8/10/91) and had four children. Even though they later divorced Nola and Travis remained very good friends.
Nola faced many struggles in her life time but remained strong and true to her faith. She is survived by her four children Michael Casey (Louise), Lonny Casey (Eileen), Betty Ann Casey (David), and JoAnne Lasher (Neil), as well as, 18 grandchildren, 45+ great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Nola is preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Emma Emerson, daughter Betty Ann Casey, granddaughter Annie Casey, and daughter-in-law Louise Casey.
Though Nola is gone she will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of many people and always did her best to be there for those when they needed her. Through her trials she taught us all that it is ok for us to be weak at times and still be able to find strength inside ourselves as well as those around us. She is now at peace and reunited with her parents, her daughter, her granddaughter, and her daughter-in-law.
Special thanks goes to her daughter JoAnne Lasher, granddaughter Kerrie Casey, and grandson James Poulson for their dedication to providing care for her. They were the most dedicated and remarkable caregivers she could have ever been blessed with.
Corinthians 4:17-18
“(17) For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all (18) So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”
A small pot luck memorial service will be held in honor of Nola on January 16, 2016, 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Church located 1175 W 600 N, Salt Lake City, UT 84116.
