Nora Ruth Ray's Obituary
West Valley City- Nora Ruth Ray age 75, passed away on Monday June 12, 2012.
Nora was born on September 28, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the only daughter of the late
Mortimer Hamilton Meyer and Muriel Leona Meyer. Nora was raised in Milwaukee, then at age 16
she moved to California. It was there that she met Richard Ray and on February 5, 1966 they were
united in marriage in Gardena, CA.
Nora had a steadfast belief in God and was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ
Latter Day Saints. Her greatest joy was serving those around her in her community and church and
she had many friends and family spanning across the country in southern California, the Salt Lake
valley in Utah, upstate New York, and many other places. Her body finally failed her, but her wit,
wisdom, and faith never did. She will live on in our hearts and memories always.
Nora is survived by two sons, Tim Ray of West Valley City, UT, Michael Ray of West Jordan, UT,
three daughters, Anna Kovacevic and her husband Eric Hill of Magnolia, TX, Christina Sanchez of
West Valley, UT, Lisa Ray of West Valley, UT, one step son, Jeff Swensen and his wife Tonya of
Wyoming, and one step daughter, Jonnie Brewer and her husband Jude of Fairview, UT, many
grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband of forty-six years, Richard Frank Ray, her step son, Richard Patrick Ray, her
grandson, Jared Brewer, and her granddaughter Bobbie Brewer.
She will be interred in the Taylorsville Cemetery in Taylorsville, UT. We invite friends to celebrate her life with us at the LDS ward building pavilion at 3737 S. 5600 W. in West Valley City, around 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to a charity of
