Norma Alice Senff Maas' Obituary
Norma Alice Senff Maas, 91, graduated to heaven on February 6, 2021. She passed while sleeping with family around her at home. Norma was born to Alice Mary Sauerwein and Frederick William Senff Jr Nelson in Queens, New York on December 29, 1929.
Norma loved God, her family and experiencing the oceans, swimming, outdoors, skiing, camping, hiking, and reading.
Norma was a Registered Nurse at the VA Hospital where Norma and Perry met. They were married in the chapel at the VA in Grand Junction, Colorado; September 19, 1959. Norma was loved by Vernon (Perry) E. Maas until the day of his passing. (3/25/1927-10/22/1998) They often said, “Don’t wait, because it might be too late. Live life!” One of Perry and Norma’s family uniqueness is that each child was born in a different state.
Norma was a strong willed and determined woman and was stronger and more beautiful than she knew or gave herself credit for. This strength and beauty is visible in all of her family. Her family’s devoted love of living life fully continues on.
Attending a Sunday church service at a natural amphitheater, a priest made the mistake of demanding they worship in a church. She let him know they were very close to God right where they were. Trusting heaven doesn't disappoint Norma, because God wouldn’t get any more rest -- and that'd be unfortunate for those of us still needing God's attention.
A celebration of Norma‘s life, at this time, will be not be possible with family living around the world and with Covid restrictions.
Norma is survived by her Cousin Janet O’Brien and daughters Kate (Bruce Lin) O’Brien, Maureen (Lain) Coryell and their families.
Norma will be greatly missed by her children Anie Moran, Pamela Roberts (John Johnson), Bernard H. (Carla Jean) Maas, Josephine M. (Jay) Wolcott, Ilene M. Helfrich and David J. (Tatiana) Maas.
Norma is the loving and devoted grandmother of Jimmy(Carrie), Crystal, Jason, Danielle(Greyson), Tanya(Brandon), Dana, Norma, Gary, Kelsey(Jed), Ryan, Karen and Katie.
Norma is a Beloved Great Grandmother to Tyrone, Tyreese, Jadon, Jaelah, Aiden, Austin, Bella, Emma, Blake, Ayden, Elliana, Owen, Liam, Asher, Liam T, Madison, Jordan, Raely, Ethan, Bryanna, Jazlyn, Dimen, Teresa, Hunter, Katelyn, Dillon, Colton, Kaden, Jacob, Stephanie, Vincent, Gracie, Damien, William and Abigail.
Norma is dearly loved by all her family members and friends.
Norma’s wishes are for memorial donations to be sent to essential organizations in her life.
