Norma Louise Hatch Petroni's Obituary
Norma L. (Hatch) Petroni, 89, of Sandy, UT, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Norma was born December 19, 1933 in Albuquerque, NM to James Leroy Hatch and Leona Mae Kinsell Hatch. She married Renzo Petroni in Sante Fe, NM in 1956. She resided in Albuquerque, NM, New York City, NY and most recently in Charlottesville, VA before her move to Sandy, UT in 2022.
Norma was a devout Catholic with a special bond to the Carmelite Nuns of Sante Fe, NM. She treasured the rich variety of her life experiences, from growing up in the Southwest, to enjoying the cultural life of New York City, where she worked and raised a family, to travels in Italy and throughout Europe, and as a loving grandmother in her retirement years in Charlottesville, VA.
Norma is survived by her daughters Ann Petroni McMullen and Gina Petroni (husband, Mark Conaway); and grandchildren, Renzo McMullen, Natalie McMullen and Theresa Petroni-Conaway; and sister Charlotte Williams. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband Renzo, her parents, Leona and Roy; her brother Donald Hatch; and her son-in-law Jeff McMullen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Holy Comforter Catholic Church in Charlottesville, VA with the Very Reverend Joseph Mary Lukyamuzi presiding. Her ashes will be interred in Fairview Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carmelite Monastery of Sante Fe, 49 Mt Carmel Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87505 or St. Bonaventure Indian School and Mission 25 W Navarre Blvd, Thoreau, NM 87323, or a charity of your choice.
