Norman Dale Nelson's Obituary
Norman Dale Nelson peacefully passed away on November 18, 2019. Norman was born on December 6, 1930 in Safford, Arizona to Aaron W. Nelson and Deseret (Dessie) Morris.
He married Laura Lou Hamblin on July 27, 1953 in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple. Norman attended North High School in Phoenix, AZ, Brigham Young University and Arizona State University. He served an LDS Mission in the New England States in 1951 and served his country during the Korean War.
Norman served as Bishop in the 15th Ward Phoenix East Stake. He also served as Scoutmaster, and taught early morning seminary. Norman was a great example of a disciple of the Lord. He was dedicated to his wife and children. He will be greatly missed by all.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lou, son, Norman Scott, daughter, Nancy Lou, brother, Garth Nelson and great-grandson, Bentley Peterson. He is survived by his 4 children, Kenneth (Jana) Nelson, Michael (Linda) Nelson, Becky (Nick) Galloway, Heidi (Brad) Higginson. Grandchildren: Sarah (David) Bybee, Jacob (Cara) Nelson, Billy Nelson, Michelle (Rend) Peterson, Geoffrey Nelson, Beth (Cody) Dickson, Cami (Nathan) Thomas, Rachel (Chace) Norton, Leah Galloway Tyler (Chantel) Galloway, Madilyn (Curtis) Hindes, Max (Liz) Nelson, Tanner (Karen) Galloway, Ethan (Alexis) Higginson, Megan Nelson, Jayce Nelson, Sophia Higginson, Noah Higginson, Lydia Jane Higginson. Great-grandchildren; Luke Nelson, Grant Nelson, Bonnie Nelson, Jana Nelson, Mylie Peterson, Kenneth Peterson, Brigham Peterson, Coy Norton, Caiden Norton, Calder Norton, Jane Thomas, Lily Thomas, Mckay Thomas, Ellie Dickson, Olive Dickson, Violet Dickson, Ford Dickson, Adrian Nelson, Nolan Nelson, Bowman Bybee, Avilyn Bybee, Boone Galloway, Adilynn Hindes, Owen Hindes.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2019, 11am at LDS ward building 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo UT 84604, with a viewing at 10am prior to services.
