Otha Joe Radford's Obituary
Otha “Joe” Radford, 91, our loving dad, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017. He was born in Kentucky on October 25, 1925. He served this country in the U.S. Army as a young man and then went on to marry his first wife, Rosemary in Indiana. Together they started a Baptist church. They later divorced. Joe then moved to Utah and married Charlotte Louise Warby in 1978. Joe was a hard working man and retired from both the University of Utah and the Wonder Bread Bakery in 1986. From his marriage to Charlotte, he gained 6 stepchildren; Pauline Beavers, dec(Paul), Douglas Warby(Marie), Phillip Warby(Liz), Rene Warby(Troy), Frank Warby and Donna Jones(Sam Jones). He had 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren as well as a great number of family friends who he thought of as family. Joe was preceeded in death by his wife Charlotte in 2001 and was looking forward to reuniting with her in heaven. Joe loved to watch wrestling, play poker and sit on the porch to people watch. He loved the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz. He had the daily companionship of his dog, Sandy. He will be remembered for his funny stories and his great sense of humor. To the end, he expressed gratitude every day for his caregivers. A special thank you to James Calloway and the Home Care Assistance staff for making his life a little easier in the end. Celebration of Life ceremony to be determined at a later date.
