Paea I'Upolu Brown's Obituary
Paea I’ Upolu Brown or better known by his family and friends as Polu, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on October 11th, 2021. Polu was born on July 16th, 1969 in Tongatapu, Tonga to the late Tevita Alapuku & Ana Kafoatu Brown. His family migrated to America when he was an infant where he spent his childhood in San Mateo, California before his family uprooted to Taylorsville, Utah. He then returned back to his homeland of Tonga and graduated from Liahona High school. He devoted 17 years to his career with Delta Airlines where he retired in 2020. He was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Polu lived an amazing life, the way that he wanted and was always true to himself and those around him. He had the biggest heart and was full of Christ-like love and humility. His sense of humor was loved by all who knew him, and he has left a smile on our hearts forever.
Polu met the love of his life Faapoi Tautaiolefue in 1991 and dated for two years before getting married on January 9th, 1993. They were later sealed for all time and eternity with their beautiful daughters Salote & Misilei on November 9th, 2002 in the Jordan River Temple. He was a loving husband to his sweet wife, a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, and the best/coolest papa to his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his queen, Faapoi Brown and his two princesses; Salote Halatoa (Kilifi), Misilei Pauni (Latu). He is Papa to three grandchildren; Polu Jr. Halatoa, Akesa Halatoa, and Kilifi Jr. Halatoa. Polu was the second youngest of six children; Siaosi Brown (Sela), Hepeti Brown (Karen), Emili Brown (Tangikina), Gerald Liti Brown (Faiana), Samuela Brown (Carma), and only sister, Teisi Brown.
He is predeceased by his parents, Tevita Alapuku & Ana Kafoatu Brown, along with his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Mimita & Lemoe Tautaiolefue.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at the Kearns Tongan Stake Center (4660 West 5015 South, Kearns, UT 84118). The family service will be from 10:00am-1:00pm, followed by the Bishop Service at 2:00-3:00pm. Interment will follow at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery at 3:30pm (6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123).
