Patricia Louise Hallman Tebbet's Obituary
Patricia Louise Hallman Tebbet passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at home in Sandy, Utah, December 1, 2024. She was born August 14, 1954, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to John Krause Hallman, Jr. and Beatrice Louise Davis Hallman.
On February 2, 1973, Pat married Gerald Randall Miller. They were later divorced. On September 7, 1983, she married Thomas Royce Tebbet in Riverton, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 2009. Thomas passed away December 3, 2021.
Pat grew up in Camden, New Jersey where she completed her public-school education and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager.
She began her college education at Brigham Young University in 1973 and completed it as a busy mother in 1990, graduating from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development. She worked at the University of Utah hospital and clinics for 29 years until her retirement.
Pat was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the Temple. The teachings of her faith guided her throughout her life in good times as well as bad. She was a devoted wife and mother and a fearless friend.
Pat was a creator of beautiful things, with her music, in her painting, and in her garden. She especially enjoyed preserving the harvest of her garden and was particularly fond of bottling carrots. She was an accomplished seamstress and could create beautiful dresses. Two of her favorite downtime activities were going for rides and eating out with family and friends.
She often shared stories about her Nana (Grandma Hallman), and Nana’s skills as a homemaker and artist. Her example influenced Pat to take on challenges like furniture making and refinishing as well as stripping wallpaper and painting walls for family and friends.
Family was the most important thing in Pat’s life. Her dearest wish was that each of her children would find peace in their lives and a Savior in Christ.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thomas.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth Hallman (Tammy), her children Cassandra Miller, Kristin Ottosen (Andy), Gerald Randall Miller Jr. (Casey), Melinda Anderson (Garett), Emily Tebbet, a niece and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, December 6, 2024, at the LDS Chapel located at 11677 South Grandville Avenue, South Jordan, Utah. Interment will take place directly following the funeral services at Herriman Cemetery located at 12465 Pioneer Street (6000 West), Herriman Utah.
