God Bless you, Aunt Pat!
Prayers and blessings to the Packard family in this time of loss. I am truly honored to call her "my precious aunt Pat."
She championed a life full of love, compassion, empathy and generosity to her family and friends. I've been reminiscing over wonderful memories of sitting in her kitchen or out on the patio laughing with family and it was always surrounded by her delicious cooking, especially Grandma Elaine's famous italian chicken.
During the summer, Trent, Brett, Casey and I would come back after a week or so with Uncle Joe's HEAT company, cleaning oil rig boilers from Utah up to Canada and inundate her with wash and stories of our adventures from the road. Her first question was always, when did we last eat?
She was a selfless surrogate Mom to me in so many ways back in those U of U college years from 78-81' living with Grandpa Dick. After skiing with Trent or breaking away from intensive studies, I was always welcome to come out for a home-cooked meal and a MASH episode or two. More times than not, I would find Grandpa Dick's yellow Toyota Corolla already in their driveway with Brock the dog in tow.
In all, she loved life to the fullest and cared deeply for those around her. Her care and concern for others was her hallmark.
To my cousins Trent, Brett, Casey and Lisa...I love you all dearly and can't imagine losing both beloved Joe and Pat in such a short time.
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care of each other, and I look forward to seeing you soon, now that my son Stephen is living and working in Salt Lake.
May they both rest in the Lord's loving arms!
