Patricia "Pat" Anne Halkney Patterson's Obituary
Patricia “Pat” Anne Patterson (Halkney) passed away on October 8, 2023 from brain cancer.
Pat was born October 9, 1948, in Heidelberg Germany on a US Army Base. She and her family later moved to the United States. In her young life she was a military brat, moving several times before ending up in Utah. She graduated from East High School in 1967.
She married in 1975 and had two sons whom she loved with all of her heart. She had a career in the finance industry, working several years with Zions Bank, and eventually retiring from Discover Card.
A longtime resident of Sandy City, UT, she had always dreamed of moving to a small town and buying a house with a white picket fence. In retirement, she moved to Nephi, UT and made that dream come true.
She lived her life to the fullest, was true to herself, and always had a good time. She loved to go camping and fishing with her sons. She had a giving heart and was always willing to help any person or animal in need. Being a lover of all animals, she had many different types of pets throughout her lifetime. She especially loved to ride her beloved horse Zanetti.
Pat is survived by her children, Ryan (Krystal) Patterson and Aaron Patterson; mother Ursula Halkney; sister Lynne (Mike) Washburn; nieces Carol Neeley Phillips (Garth Phillips) and Lisa Neeley Johnson (David Johnson); and her granddaughter Olivia Patterson, who was the apple of her eye.
She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Carlton Halkney.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 18th at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, UT. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the The Humane Society of Utah or The Huntsman Cancer Institute.
