Pat was an extraordinary man in my book. He stood up for me when I was hired to teach Biology in 1978 at The Church College of Hawaii. He was encouraging when I was accepted to Ross University Medical School in 1980 at my age of 42. Half of the faculty said I was crazy to start medical school at my age. He was with the other half that said “go for it” He helped me to start my teaching and was supportive in every way. I truly loved him and his sweet wife. We had some very nice visits with them. I miss him and look forward to visiting with him across the veil which should be a short time now for me.
