Patrick Lee Shay's Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, who leaves behind a legacy of adventure and love. Patrick Lee Shay was born in Orville, CA on January 8, 1959 and passed away on July 31, 2025. He is survived by his 5 devoted daughters, 5 cherished siblings and 14 wonderful grandchildren.
In his younger years, Dad was a joyful and adventurous soul—a video game vendor by trade, but so much more than that to us. He filled our childhoods with unforgettable memories: boating on summer days, camping beneath the stars, video game parties, playing croquet in the backyard, and taking long drives just for the adventures of finding beaver dams.
He taught us independence in the most unexpected ways—like sending us to the store armed only with quarters, or coming home from work and tossing handfuls of change into the yard for us to find.
One of our most cherished memories is when he’d show up with the back of his truck filled with already full water balloons—instantly sparking massive water fights that included everyone in the house.
As the years went on, life brought its challenges, and our time with that playful, lighthearted version of Dad became more precious. Still, we hold tight to those memories—the laughter, the lessons, the quiet ways he showed his love.
Rest easy, Dad. We hope you’ve found peace, and that wherever you are, the skies are clear, the water is calm, and the stars are bright.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30-4 on August 9, 2025 at Taylorsville Park South Pavilion located at 4721 S 1700 W.
