Patsy Faye Fay's Obituary
Patsy Faye Bryce Fay, loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister passed away on June 19, 2011 after a prolonged and spirited bout with liver cancer. She was surrounded by many of her loved ones as her Heavenly Father called her home to spend Father’s Day with her own daddy. Patsy was born on February 7, 1939 in Safford, AZ to Louise and Carlos Howard Bryce. She is the Great-great-granddaughter of Scottish immigrant Ebenezer Bryce, who Bryce Canyon is named after! She attended Compton High School. She met and fell in love with Dennis H. Fay; they eloped thereafter to Kingman, AZ. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They spent 56 years together as loving companions and concerned parents while on this earth. They spent most of their married life in Southern California. They also lived in Oregon and have lived in Provo/Orem for the last 15 years. Patsy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many church callings throughout her life. She was especially fond of working with the young women who, in turn, loved her and continued to keep in touch with her over the years. Her favorite calling in this life was that of a mother. She and Dennis were the parents of 9 children. She loved taking care of and raising her babies. This calling continued on with her 33 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many other kids who called and considered her “mom”. She is preceded in death by her father, Carlos Howard Bryce. She is survived by her husband Dennis H. Fay Sr, her mother, Louise Bryce (Ben) Laurent, her sons, Michael (Marsonna)-Murray, David (Kerry)-Upland, CA, Dennis II (Susan)-Spanish Fork, Steven (Suzanne)-Provo, Darrin (Carrie)-Las Vegas, NV, Jeffery (Amanda)-Orem, Kenny (Chelsea)-Herriman, daughters Kristy (Chris) Roman-Santaquin, Denise (Jack) Rogers-Olympia, WA She is also survived by her sister Phyllis (Collier) Duncan, brother Herb (Gloria) Bryce and all of her many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patsy faced her illness with amazing strength, charm and wit, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a wonderful and very unique sense of humor right up to the end; this will be greatly missed. Her grandchildren loved to listen to her recall and retell numerous (usually humorous) stories of days gone by or tales of yesteryear; usually at the expense of one of her red faced children. The family would like to thank the staff of First Choice Hospice for the loving care, support and friendship that they shared with Patsy and her family during her illness. Mom, we all love you more than we can say. You have left a huge hole in our lives but we rejoice that you are no longer suffering and we look forward to a grand reunion. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 23 at the Suncrest Ward Chapel, 800 W 200 N Orem, UT with a viewing held at 10:00 am Graveside service held at 2:00 pm at the UtahVeterans Memorial Park in Riverton.
