Patsy L Hunt's Obituary
Patsy L. Hunt, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026 — just one day before what would have been her 93rd birthday — at Spring Gardens Senior Living in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 92 years old and will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patsy was born on June 25, 1933, to Leonard R. Brewster and Jane P. Carpenter, both of whom preceded her in death. Her life was shaped by two great loves — her family and her faith. On November 17, 1972, she married Warren M. Hunt, the love of her life, and together they built a devoted partnership that lasted 39 years. In 2002, through the tender and loving efforts of her adored grandson Tylar, Patsy was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — a milestone that deepened her already growing faith. That sacred union was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, a beautiful covenant that reflected her love for Warren, her devotion to family, and her wholehearted commitment to God. Warren preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her stepson, Merrill Hunt.
Those who knew Patsy knew a home that was always immaculate, always warm, and always lovely. She had a rare gift for making every space she touched feel like a sanctuary. Whether she was decorating with her signature eye for beauty, painting her cherished crafts, sewing with careful and loving hands, or tending to the thousand small details that made her house a home, Patsy poured her heart into everything she did. She was seldom still — and in her busyness, there was always a kind of quiet joy.
From the moment of her baptism, Patsy devoted herself wholeheartedly to studying the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her faith was strong and ever growing, becoming the steady light that guided her life and radiated through her gentle, loving spirit.
She is survived by her brothers, Bill Brewster (Marilyn), James Brewster (La Nae), and Donald “Steve” Carpenter (Patty); her children, Charles Daniel Smith “Danny” (Debbie) and Sandra L. Dimond (Curtis); her grandchildren, Tylar Curtis Dimond (Adree), Cherity Smith Steadman (TJ), Justin Smith, and Cody Smith; her great-grandchildren, Avangeline Fairbanks, Jack Tylar Dimond, and Charlee Claire Dimond, Jeff Sellers, Ashton Deollos, Colton Steadman, Timothy Steadman, Makinzie Steadman, Kensley Smith, Xander Smith and Brooklyn Smith; and her great-great-grandchildren, Anya Sisneros and Tarja Neilson; and her stepchildren, Troyleen Wilson (Tony), Lee Hunt (Nancy), Trena Hunt, and Rendall Hunt (Karen) — all of whom carry her love and light forward.
Patsy’s warmth was the kind that stayed with you. She leaves behind not just a family who loved her, but a legacy of beauty, faith, and a love that never stopped giving. She will be forever missed and forever cherished.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Patsy’s hospice team, and especially to Jaycee and Guadalupe, whose unwavering love, compassion, and dedication brought immeasurable comfort during her final days. A special thank you is also extended to the entire care team at Spring Gardens Assisted Living, whose kindness and support meant the world to Patsy and her family. The family also wishes to express their deep appreciation to all the family members and friends who so lovingly cared for Patsy and spent cherished time with her — your presence in her life was a true gift.
