Paul Raphael Schneider's Obituary
Paul Raphael Schnieder was born November 11th, 1951, in St. Paul Minnesota to Ray and Jean Schneider. He died August 6th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, he was the first of three brothers. He is survived by his wife Janet, brothers Tom and Rick Schneider, his children Tami Thimm, Joel Schneider, KaraLee, Ammon and Charles Josephson. Paul has 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Paul graduated from Sibley High School in 1970. While in high school he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. He directed “A Ranson for Red Chief” play for the drama club. Paul also played guitar in a high school band.
After graduating he entered the US Air Force August 31st, 1971, as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist and retired March 31st, 1992, as a Master Seargent. Paul was a veteran and served defending this country during Operation Desert Storm. His various military assignments include Nelis AFB Nevada where is daughter was born in 1974, Okinawa Japan, Moody AFB Georgia where his son was born in 1976, Ramstein Germany, Hill AFB Utah, Spangdahlem Germany, and his final duty station being Hill AFB Utah.
During his first assignment at Hill AFB, Paul joined the church choir and played guitar. The song that will be sung “On Eagles Wings” was one that was played often in the choir.
After retiring from the military, he worked for various companies in customer service including Pilkington Metal Finishing where he met the love of his life, Janet. Paul and Janet were married on December 15th, 2009.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, building Legos, watching baseball and reading.
His family wishes to thank all the Hospice 4 Utah caretakers and especially Dr. Coates who helped him during his final time on this earth.
A service will be held at 11 am on August 14, 2024, at the Whitmore ward house on 6890 Whitmore Way Cottonwood Heights. No flowers requested.
