Paul Vincent Steck III's Obituary
Paul Vincent Steck III, 68, passed away February 17th, 2017 in Millcreek, Utah from complications of Cancer, with his son and Buddie close by.
He was born February 4th, 1949 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Paul was the oldest of 10 kids of Paul Vincent and Iris Nadiene Steck. He grew up in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey.
Graduated from Oakcrest High School. He joined the Navy when he was seventeen. He served on the U.S.S. Ranger (Aircraft Carrier) during the Vietnam War. During his basic training, he met and married Marcia Adrienne Herrmann in 1968, the mother of his two children: Jason C. Steck (Maria) and April Dennise J. Ryan (Jesse).
He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Jhon Anthony Alvarez and Kai Jackson Ryan and his beloved dog Buddie. His siblings Debbie Stoehr (Leo), James Steck (Kim), Bruce Steck, Kandi Steck wife of Bryan Steck, Vincent Steck (Julie), Kimberly Davidson (Wes), John C. Steck (Alma), Thor Steck, many nieces and nephews, and Marcia Herrmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Bryan and Kurt Steck.
Paul had many careers throughout his life. He was a ceramic tile and marble setter, security guard at Hamilton Mall and CBI Security, fire fighter, UTA bus driver, Manager at Smith’s Food & Drug, and cross country truck driver.
Paul enjoyed food, especially Nanny’s rolled cabbage, his Mom’s mac & cheese, and Italian subs.
His military service included his time in the Navy and Army National Guard.
Some of his favorite hobbies and interests were CB/HAM Radios, football – especially his Philadelphia Eagles, canoeing, National Geographic and he was a major Trekkie.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd, at the LDS Church, 325 East 500 North, Heber City, Utah. Viewing will be from 10:00 – 10:45 am. Memorial service will begin at 11:00 am and Graveside service at 11:30 am at the Heber City Cemetery.
